Wilson's Blade 98 18x20 v7 Tennis Racquet represents a bold new direction for the Blade franchise. Borrowing from the popular Clash series racquets, the new Blade features Carbon Mapping strategically throughout the hoop and FeelFlex technology to increase frame flexibility and stability for superior feel. Wilson has also reduced the spec variance on the new Blades for more consistent feel from frame to frame. The shaft above the grip has been tapered slightly to help with top-hand comfort on two handed backhands. The Blade 98 is slightly more head-light than the previous version and is constructed of Braided Graphite + Basalt to aid in flex for enhanced feel and control. With strung weight of 11.4 ounces, a flat 20.6 mm beam, and soft flex, The Blade 98 should continue to be a favorite of professional, collegiate, and advanced recreational players everywhere. The popular black and lime green color scheme gets silver highlights at the sides of the head to make the cosmetic more appealing. The Blade 98 v7 is also available in a more open 16x19 string pattern, and the easier to play Blade 100L model. Expect the 16x19 version to play slightly more spin friendly and powerful than the 18x20. The 18x20 Blade is more stable than the 16x19 do to the higher swing weight.
